BABE
EVELYN MORIN
I
LOVE YOU, BABE
So long ago a young
girl cried
For the tiny heart beating deep inside
She knew of sadness, sorrow and strife
And that separation would be for life.
Then all too quickly came the day
When a nurse in white whisked him away
His little presence she could not hold
That was the story she’d been told.
A glimpse through the nursery window pane
Was the only memory which would remain
A beautiful face, hair black as coal
With him she left her very soul.
As people knew her through the years
They pondered why she shed no tears
When upsets came she’d laugh, not cry
And they would always wonder why?
They did not know her heart had died
So long ago when she had cried
For that lost love which could not be
From then until eternity.
But then one day she met the Lord
The God of love who holds the cord
Of all his children big and small
Who conquers that dividing wall.
He saw his daughter’s stone-cold heart
Then all His love He did impart
And said “My child, your pain I see
No waiting ‘til eternity.
Circumstances did unfold
Involving actions, some quite bold
Events held in the Master’s hand
The Hour Glass now holds no sand.
She’s thankful to the Lord above
For sending back her long lost love
She praises Him for what He’s done
In giving her her first born son.
Her soul returned back to its place
When she beheld that lovely face
A mother’s Christmas wish come true
When he whispered softly, “I love you”.
I love you, babe, you made my day
You’re in my heart and there you’ll stay
To new beginnings filled with joy
A sweet young man, my baby boy.
Now here you are at thirty-one
All grown up - and so much fun
No more wondering where you are
You’re my special shining star.
May this Birthday be your best
Set apart from all the rest
Wishes really do come true
My greatest thrill was meeting you.
Let these words I send today
Stay within you day by day
Giving strength in all you do
Remember always, I love you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABE.
I LOVE YOU!
