A picture Shifra drew 30 hours after her baby
daughter was born
Shifra gave birth to her daughter and lost her
two days later to a couple that said she would
be involved in an "open adoption" with her
daughter and the adopters. Shifra was coerced
and manipulated into surrendering her baby. Her
family said they would disown her if she kept
her baby. The adoption agency worker told Shifra
it would be cruel to change her mind and keep
her baby when she had promised the adopters she
would give them her baby.
It has been five years since the birth of her
daughter and she had not once seen her child
in-person. The adopters lied -- they will not
allow Shifra and her daughter to be together.
They do, however, accept letters and gifts from
Shifra and send her pictures of her daughter a
few times a year.
