WHERE DID YOU GO?
EVELYN MORIN

Where did you go, my Ron Stevie Pohl?
They took you away and fractured my soul.
They gave you to strangers who couldn't conceive
And you, then became, their own "make-believe".
She made you her son and stroked out your name
Then picked new replacements, while playing the game.
Adoption - the answer, for those without child
The birthmother told that the pain would be mild.
“You will forget and go on with your life
As you can start over as mother and wife.”
But did they not know that you never forget?
The pain in your heart, the constant regret.
The void and the emptiness found deep within
Behind all the walls and the tough leather skin.
The outside was easy, I learned how to hide
By just being cheerful and taking in stride
Each day as it came, for 30 long years
A dead, walking zombie, bankrupt of tears.
Thank God for reunion, for healing the soul
For bringing him back and making me whole.
Never again will they tear us apart
As we were connected, right from the start.
I love him so dearly, he's my pride and joy
My wonderful son, my sweet baby boy.
